Our yearly trail opener is once again held at Mt. Mariveles located at Brgy. Alasasin, Mariveles, Bataan last January 14, 2024. It’s our 9th edition and as expected, it’s a cold run with our runners battling out the strong winds at the Tarak Ridge.
We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our partners and sponsors who have made this trail running event a success. Your dedication to our event and the trail running community has been truly amazing. Special shoutout to the Brgy. Captain of Alasasin Hon. Dante Malimban Sir for supporting us all the way despite your very busy schedules. To the School Principal of Alasasin Elementary School Mr. Noel Lagman for allowing us again to use the school facilities.
A BIG shoutout to the following sponsors who have contributed to creating an unforgettable experience for all our participants. We look forward to continuing this incredible journey together.
To our dedicated volunteers. Your commitment to guiding and supporting the runners along the challenging course made a significant impact on their overall experience. Your selfless contribution is truly commendable and highly appreciated.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without your invaluable assistance.
And of course, a trail running event will never happen without the runners. A huge CONGRATULATIONS goes to all our participants. Conquering Mt. Mariveles is challenge you took with lot of grit. You showed strength and determination passing the natural obstacles from start to finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, our podium finishers and race results.
We want also to recognize our Para athletes for displaying exceptional skills, determination, and perseverance to finish the race. You are our inspiration.
This year’s edition encountered a lot of challenges but still commenced at its original home, the historic Municipality of Maragondon, Cavite.
The 2nd Leg of Conquer Trail Adventure Series finally happened last July 9, 2023. Initially scheduled March at Brgy. Puray, Montalban, Rizal. Unfortunately, affected by the insurgency so we decided to bring it back to Maragondon. We are very thankful to the LGU of Maragondon for always welcoming us.
The 7th edition led our runners to the same route last year where every part of the course is runnable. Featured were the great sceneries of Mt. Marami, Mt. Mataas na Gulod, Mt. Bulbok, Mt. Pico de Loro, and the other beautiful peaks of Maragondon mountain range passing by the historic Mt. Buntis and Mt. Nagpatong. Also runners visited Bonifacio execution site and other historical trails along side the Bonifacio trial house and some of the ancestral houses of notable Filipinos who were rooted in Maragondon.
It was a muddy race caused by the heavy rainfalls days before the event.
The event was graced not only by the seasoned runners and newbies, we were inspired to have some of our para-athletes. And for the first time, we were joined by pets who run along with their owners.
Thank you very much, especially for the following partners who beyond expectations, provided the needed support for the success of this event.

This edition welcomed runners to run with their cute pets.
And of course, we were inspired by these para-athletes.
Again thank you very much for your utmost support. Join us once again next year for another edition of Conquer Ascend.
Ladder-type trail running series conducted on different promising places. Started from the 25 km at Conquer Ridge Runner held in Mariveles, Bataan last February 20, 2022. Followed by a 42 km trail marathon at Conquer Ascend held in Maragondon, Cavite – on April 3, 2022. And finally, a 50 Km trail ultramarathon at Nasugbu, Batangas last November 27, 2022, to end another arduous series.
The objective is very simple – to help runners achieve their ultimate goals in trail running through this kind of series. A series that will unleash the courage and determination of each runner. And I am glad to see new faces in every series. New athletes to grow in our field, trail running.
Presenting to you the seven (7) runners who successfully completed the challenging series.
Finally, the plan of connecting the mountains adjacent to Mt. Batulao happened thru the last part of Conquer Trail Adventure Series 2022 – Conquer Assault 50: Batangas Cinco Picos – The Last Leg, last November 27, 2022. We connected five (5) prominent mountains, Mt. Talamitam, Mt. Lantik, Mt. Toong, Mt. Batulao, and Mt. Tatlong Tilos, traversing three (3) municipalities of Batangas – Nasugbu, Tuy, and Balayan. It was indeed an adventure and challenge bridging dots, sleepless recons, unlimited bushwacking, numerous lost along the way. But beyond all the struggles, the team discovered and unlocked awesome spots the route has to offer.
We started at Bayabasan Elementary School, located at Sitio Bayabasan, Brgy. Aga, Nasugbu, Batangas at 12 midnight. Runners run Mt. Talamitam and Mt. Lantik via Sitio Ludlud until they reached Brgy. Kayrilaw where our AS1 was located. They went back to Bayabasan Elementary School, AS2, via the same route except that they were not climbed Mts Talamitam and Lantik again. The first part served as they warmed-up before going to more daring part.
They entered Brgy Toong, Tuy, Batangas, AS3, via Sitio Kaybibisaya passing Kaytabak Falls and Ambon-ambon. Afterwards, climbed Mt. Toong via a non-traditional trails we decided to include to minimized the risk running to so many cliffs and loosed rocks above the traditional Toong trail. This part, the wind has the tendency to blast hard and fogged the area anytime of the day. Indeed, this part was the most challenging part of the route. 25KM runners also enjoyed this part as they started at 6AM .
After they reached the summit of Mt. Toong, 50KM runners battled the steep downhill going Brgy. San Jose, Tuy, Batangas, AS4. The intermediate cutoff is at 10AM. They passed by the untouched stream system of San Jose where the Barangay and adjacent sitios sourced their water. After having their first major meals on the race, they proceed to Mt. Batulao summit climbing the same steep trails until they reached the junction above. 25KM runners’ next destination was direct Mt. Batulao.
After reaching Mt. Batulao summit, all runners proceed to Kaylaway II Elem. School, AS5, located at Sitio Balagbag, Brgy. Kaylaway, Nasugbu, Batangas. Intermediate cutoff at 2PM. They passed the boundaries of Balayan, Batangas. They had their 2nd major meal of the race, then proceed to the finish line at Aga Elementary School via Mt. Bato or Mt. Tatlong Tilos, runners find it the lightest part of the route being mostly flat and runnable elevations.
10KM runners enjoyed the out and back route passing Santos Farm, Kaytabak Falls and Ambon-ambon until they reach Brgy. Toong in Tuy, Batangas.
It was a fun, adventure, challenged filled race runners should race back and looking forward to, come 2023.
My sincerest gratitude to the following partners whose sacrifices were priceless in taking care of everything to cater to the needs of the runners.

It was very nice to be back on the trails of Mt. Batulao after two (2) years of missing. Finally we hit another optimum event and glad to unite everybody to enjoy the sports.
The 6th edition of Conquer Jagged Peak is an out-and-back run with a loop over the Old and New Trail of Mt. Batulao. Still, we commenced with three (3) categories with twenty-one (21) kilometers as the main event, ten (10) kilometers to cater to the more beginners and speed fan runners, and of course the “ELITE 5”, where we can meet the finest of a team competitor, running alongside from start to finish.
Locals said that it was raining every afternoon the entire race week, but during the race weekend, it was fine with sunny weather after all. The grass was tall and green and the landscape is always amazing.
The locals were so cooperative, we were always welcome to visit to the tranquil beauty, not to mention the managed registration system now before you climb Mt. Batulao.
We had another action-packed event. Everything was smooth and successful all because of the following partners whose sacrifices were priceless taking care of everything to cater to the needs of the runners.

After two (2) long years of waiting, finally we hit again the trails of the historic Maragondon, Cavite.
The 2nd Leg of Conquer Trail Adventure Series finally happened last April 3, 2022. This event was to be commenced last March 2020 but postponed due to pandemic lockdowns.
The 6th edition led our runners to a new route where everything is runnable. Featured were the great sceneries of Mt. Marami, Mt. Mataas na Gulod, Mt. Bulbok, Mt. Pico de Loro, and the other beautiful peaks of Maragondon mountain range passing by the historic Mt. Buntis and Mt. Nagpatong. Also runners visited Bonifacio execution site and other historical trails along side the Bonifacio trial house and Caingin port.
Expected to be hot, the 42K started 2AM while the 21K and 10K started at 5:30AM at the Maragondon Plaza. This event was to highlight Maragondon balsahan so we finished the race at the Caingin Port where runners enjoyed riding the balsa, cruising Maragondon River after their rigorous run.

The Marshals
To our sponsors, this event will never be successful without your presence, thank you very much for your support.
It is our way to start trail running yearly and kick-off the season.
The 1st Leg of Conquer Trail Adventure Series happened last January 5, 2020. Still at the challenging mountain of Mt. Mariveles featuring Tarak Ridge.
The 6th edition brought back runners to the traditional routes of Paniquian – Tarak – Papaya trail. Minor changes applied to eliminate some barangay roads going to Nanay Cording’s place before entering Ayala trails.
Drizzled hours before the start made the surrounding even colder. But all in all, its another fine weather, the usual strong winds at the ridge, the cold waters from Papaya and Paniquian Rivers, beautiful Sllaj Falls, astounding views from the peak and ridge, challenging route. Plus the hospitality of the people of Mariveles, Bataan, caring marshals, delicious foods, all in one trail race.
We had another astounding event. Probably one of the best editions. All because of the following partners who sacrificed more than enough in taking care of our runners and catered for all their needs.
Team CONQUER – Mhelay, There, Khara, Pat, Moi, Bong, Ecka, Jaime, and Jerry
PARDSS Foundation International Inc., headed by sir Michael Porquillano, for taking the needed traffic security along the Barangay area up to the first Aid Station and bringing our runners safe back to the finish line. And for the immediate transport of our runners who needed prompt medical assistance.

What excites everybody was the inclusion of Pico De Loro after the 3-year closure to the public.
